All You need to know about Enema Procedure

Enema is the procedure done to introduce liquid into the rectum through the anus. The rising quantity of liquid in the rectum causes a quick expansion of the lower intestinal tract lining that result in a very uncomfortable bloating of the abdomen. Enemas can be done out of medical basis as a treatment for constipation. Enema can be given to any one; men or women from childhood to adulthood which is used for cleansing our colon. In the olden times before high technology arrived and sciences are known, people already knew the significant of deep colon cleansing that went on to daily routine of bowel movements. The enemas before are already introduced but due to lack of scientific knowledge, our ancestors used pipes and fresh river water to flush out feces from the rectum. But today a lot of people laugh when they hear about enema. It is probably because of the fact that it involves part of the human anatomy that we refused to talk about the anus.

There are several benefits an enema can do. An enema acts as a laxative. If you are constipated, you would perhaps take a laxative for easier bowel movement. An enema though engages in administering a syringe or force into your rectum, enema can relieve constipation. After an enema is done feces are excreted out of the colon. An enema cleanses the colon. Colonic hydrotherapy is expensive. More often people would rather go on to enema to clean the colon aside from the fact that it is cheaper, it is also reusable. Enema when administered washes out the impacted wastes in the colon. Enema helps treat a lot of diseases like the IBS, Colitis, Hemorrhoids, parasites, body odor, etc… enemas are not risky or scary, it may be uncomfortable to first timers but knowing different kinds of positions while enema is administer is a whole lot better. No single position fits all, so there are several types of positions in giving an enema.
1.      Lying on your left side. Bend your right leg near your chest
2.      Knee chest. Keep your head down and anus up in the air.
3.      Lie on your back. Bent your knees and keep them apart
4.      Over the knee. This position is best suited to children. On your knee, let the child lie across your lap placing the child’s stomach between your legs.

For those who are first time to render enema, use at least two or three qtz water to your enema bag. This is to let your colon get used of the water that is flushed. After enema, wash the tube because you can still use it for your next enema session. Enema is not done everyday. Everyday enema promotes a habitual effect to the colon and your natural urge to remove bowel will not be felt any longer. That is th reason why most enema users become dependent to it.
